hey there social life, long time no see

Turns out there are more people I like in Louisville than I thought. On Monday, Katherine, Rania and I met downtown for dinner, drinks, and a good old-fashioned glass blowing demonstration. The boys from the West End school were there as well as Mr and Mrs Blair. I’d just read an article about Robert Blair in the Courier Journal and meeting the boys in person was totally inspiring. The glass-blowing demo was less than inspiring, but cool nonetheless. He layered different colors of glass and then quick-cooled it to create the faultline-like cracks so that orange peeked through the green. More of his stuff here.

Katherine is leaving soon for France where she’ll be an au pair for a wealthy French family with houses in Paris, Normandy, and Corsica. No, really. She’s been hanging out with the WE boys for awhile now and had nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience. I admire her parents so much for doing what they do, and I’m hoping I can contribute some how. Rania’s been helping out too, so I told her to kick my ass if I don’t follow through with the Blairs. She’s a reliable ass-kicker, so I think I’m in good hands.
