It’s been a busy last few days. I was going to shoot some pictures at Cave Hill with Karina on Friday, but she had to work late, and it rained most of the day. Later on we went to Ramsi’s and I finally got to meet Ann. Karina’s been talking about her for months now, and although I met her briefly awhile back, I haven’t had much of a chance to get to know her. The three of us had an amazing dinner made even more amazing by our waiter, Joshua. The four of us (Karina, Ann, me, and Joshua) hit it off, and Joshua—God love him—brought us free chocolate cake. He also informed us that the other waiter I’ve been ogling (he has a TI-83 tattooed on the back of his upper arm—it’s totally hot) is named Steven, and is straight and freshly single. I’d never be ballsy enough to approach StevenCalculator, but it’s a little thrilling to know he’s available. After dinner Kari and I went to a party at Kali’s house. It was smaller and less boozey than I expected, so after a few hours of stilted awkward party conversation, we called it a night.

Saturday and Sunday I spent in Cincinnati making use of a two-day admission to King’s Island. I love roller coasters, but the appeal of theme parks seems to have decreased dramatically since high school. A lot of walking and standing in line. I came home with bruises all over my back and arms, whiplash, and a scratched cornea from my contacts. Fun! Doubly disappointing, the water park closed about twenty minutes after we arrived and Nick basically had a meltdown of frustration. He’d only had a chance to try some boogie-board artificial pipeline thing once (wiped out immediately) and walk half a mile to get onto a water slide that Natalie had already been down three times, only to be sent back down when the park closed while he was waiting in line. Poor kid. That’s a lot for anyone to take, much less a 7 year old.

I went to Immediate Care on Monday to have the “doctor” take a look at my eye. He determined that it was a scratched cornea, but only prescribed some antibiotic drops and told me to avoid my contacts for a week. No eye patch. Talk about disappointing.
