I have internet at home! I didn’t doubt the capable technicians at AT&T for a second. I promised more details about the fundraising event last night, but yesterday I went to Molly’s to set up immediately after work, and then we were there until 9:45 or so, so I’m bushed. We weren’t sure what to expect from the fundraiser, but I feel like it went really well. A friend of Matt’s had offered to play guitar, we had full bar service, and all in all, we made $444. Not bad for our first event. Our deadline for donations is in September, so we’re all scrambling a bit to get everything together by then, but I’m pretty optimistic that we’ll meet our goal. It’s heartening to have a successful first event, and I hope it keeps us motivated and idealistic at least long enough for us to deliver the packages to the shelters.
