I just got back from seeing 3:10 to Yuma. This is honestly the best movie I’ve seen in a really long time and I’ll be surprised if it and the actors aren’t nominated for tons of awards.
Not much else to report on the life front, sadly. I have the whole weekend off and evidently I’m spending that time watching lots of movies. =) I saw Cabaret with Liza Minelli yesterday and tomorrow I’ll probably go see King of Kong at Sundance.
Speaking of Sundance (I had Twizzlers for lunch—please excuse the stretchy segues), I really badly want to hate that place, but I just can’t. I like indie artsy movies and that’s pretty much all they show. If you don’t know, it’s a movie theatre set up by Mr. Redford himself, and the one in Madison is the first in supposedly a long line of national locations. They only have a few screens, but the seats are comfy and you get to pick your assigned seat on a computer when you buy your ticket. Your ticket costing upwards of $10 or $11. There’s also a restaurant, a gift shop with Sundance merch, and a cafĂ© with coffee, pastries (and cheesecake for Chelsea), etc. Despite the fact that typical theatres allow you to take popcorn and Twizzlers into the theatre, for some reason it seems more exciting that Sundance lets you take in your coffee, pastries (cheesecake), etc. Oh, and there’s an usher that introduces the movie and sticks around to make sure the audio/video is working properly, which is nice. When Chelsea and I saw Paris Je T’aime, the usher actually did the intro in French. Classy.
